About

I'm Vona, 35 years old, and constantly hungry. That's what this blog is about — among many other things.

In September 2025, my large intestine perforated. It was a matter of hours before it could have turned into peritonitis. The doctors saved me, but my life was never the same again afterward — and as it turns out, that's not a bad thing.

The recovery period brought a complete 180-degree shift in how I see life. I realized my body and mind had been sending me warning signs for years — I just never took them seriously. Now I do.

This blog is a long, ongoing documentation of an attempt to build a genuinely healthy life from the ground up: from how I eat to how I think. I'm not an expert, I'm not a doctor, and I have no interest in pretending to be either. I'm just someone who went through something, and is now trying to do things right — making mistakes, learning, occasionally falling for McDonald's, other times coming up with a recipe of my own.

The bigger plan is to build a complete system: a recipe database from the cuisines that matter to me (Mediterranean, Asian, Hungarian, and more), a personal dashboard to manage my life, and eventually sharing every piece of it — through the blog, and later through video too.

If you're in a similar place — whether for health reasons, or just looking for your own path to a healthier life — I hope you find something here that helps. And if you're just curious what I'm cooking, that's more than enough reason to stick around.

Thanks for being here. — Vona
